Waiting for Results

Today was THE busiest day so far of the super busy week I’ve had. First of all - Samantha & I went to the Cookie Kick Off tonight and got ready to start selling Girl Scout cookies. Sale starts tomorrow! Tonight went alright, but it was the most chaotic thing ever! There were probably 300-400 little girls and very pushy Mommies in one tiny banquet hall. My daughter was pretty stressed by the time it was all over – she hates big crowds. But we stayed and went around to all of the activity tables to get her passport signed and she EARNED her Cookie Rally patch :) Now we need to get her a vest to put these little patches on! I’m still in the process of trying to find a new troop for her to join, I hope to talk to someone in the morning about it to get the ball rolling :)

Also, today I finally went for my blood tests. They’re testing me for a number of things to find out why I’ve been so incredibly tired and run-down. But I can almost guarantee that a lot of it is attributed to my Morphea. Anyway, they took six gigantic vials of blood :-( I’m normally alright for blood tests, but by the time she got to the sixth vial I was seriously feeling like I was going to pass out. They gave me some orange juice, had me put my head down for a while and told me I could call tomorrow or Monday to see if any results were in. They said my doctor won’t call me unless the results show something significantly abnormal…so I REALLY don’t want my phone to ring! Please keep me in your thoughts for the next few days!!!

Girl Scout Hell

Alright, so my daughter just started Girl Scouts two weeks ago. This is her first time ever. She wasn’t interested ever before, but this year she was all revved up about it so we signed her up way back in May to ensure that she would be placed in a troop for the fall. Well, at the first meeting, we were disappointed right off the bat. The troop leader, despite being a very nice lady, had zero control over the meeting. This troop, including my daughter, consists of four (yes - FOUR) 5th grade ten year old girls…their personalities range from quiet and shy to LOUD and SUPER MOUTHY. o.m.g. One of the girls is absolutely horrible to the troop leader. We’ve been to two meetings now, tonight being the second one, and I swear if I was the troop leader I would have booted that ‘lil chick right out of the troop by now. So, in the interest of getting my daughter away from this situation, I plan to call around tomorrow to see if I can get her placed in a different, larger troop so that she can really enjoy and benefit from the experience of being a Girl Scout. We’ll see what happens!

On a happy note, though…

We’re actually going to do a cookie kick-off tomorrow night. I am so excited! Samantha is going to set her goals high and aim to sell at least 500 boxes so that she can choose between 4 amusement park passes and a portable DVD player :) On the other hand, if she sells 60 boxes, she will get an awesome pen :) lol BUT if she sells 1000 boxes, she gets an iPod Touch. That’s doable, right??? Yeah, we’ll see how it goes.

Wish us luck!!!

Musical Auditions Today!

Soooo…Samantha auditioned for her school musical! I wasn’t sure she was gonna go through with it, but…yaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy! They’re doing 101 Dalmatians. She is SO excited about it!! Maybe not as excited as I am, but still…Anyway, I think all of the kids are guaranteed a part in the Chorus if nothing else, which is perfect because that is all she’s aiming for. She wants to be in it but doesn’t want to stand out and draw attention to herself. She’s so much like me, lol.

I was in six musicals throughout middle school & high school and I was only ever in the Chorus but I always had a blast. So I guess now begins the chapter of my life where I live vicariously through my children. Ah who am I kidding? I’ve been doing that for years…

Sam & Dave’s Pizza

My kids have gotten really good at making homemade ‘za.
Ok no the dough is not made from scratch, but they put all the pieces together with almost no help needed. T
hey actually have big plans to open a pizzeria together someday. Watch for it… they have already named it.
”Sam & Dave’s Pizza”
Here they are two years ago
making their very first pizza together…

And here they are today…
They have grown so much, it makes me wanna cry.
These pictures will have to go up on the walls of their pizzeria someday.
Layla's waiting in the background for cheese shreds.

The best part of pizza making, of course, is eating the “leftover” cheese that clearly would not fit on the pizza ;)

Sammi specializes in pepperoni pizza.

David has a knack for the the double cheese version.
Here is his, before…
And after…

Stop drooling on my pizza.

Somehow I forgot to get an “after” picture of the pepperoni one :( I think we tore into it too quickly.
Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to make more ;)

I did it.

I did something today that I didn’t think I’d ever do again. Well, I knew I’d do it again SOMEDAY. But I always imagined that on that fateful day I would be be bound, gagged, and dragged there by my hair. Or I’d be in so much pain that I just wouldn’t know where I was.

I went to the Dentist. Hell no, this is not really my dentist.I, like many people, am terrified of the dentist.
They have always been tops on my “people who like to torture people” list.

I had a toothache for the past couple of days, which I tried really hard to ignore. But, having heard horror stories of what happens to people when they let their teeth go to hell, I knew I had to get it taken care of. So I went today at 11am. Don’t think for a second that I wasn’t fighting off a panic attack all morning long. But the people at this office were VERY nice. They were understanding, they didn’t yell at me or even laugh at me! They did my cleaning, took x-rays, and yes they hurt me a little bit, but not on purpose! Apparently, going to the dentist is not supposed to hurt. Hygienists aren’t supposed to dig into your gums with their devil floss and stab you mercilessly with their metal hook scraper things. Who knew??? I always laid there, staring up at them and trying to figure out what I ever did to them to deserve such abuse!

So…do I have any cavities? Umm…yeah. How many? More than one. Good news is – my gums and teeth are very healthy otherwise! I just need to get some measly little fillings! That will be happening on Monday…soooooo……tune in after. Should be interesting. The dentist says I will have to breathe something called nitrous oxide beforehand…and from what I hear, that will be NO fun whatsoever. (the camera batteries are charging)
