The Homemade Dollhouse

I spend a lot of time online browsing through other "mom blogs", partially because I love to read them and look at pictures, and partially because I want/need inspiration for my own blog ;) Yeah, I'm guilty of that for sure... Well, tonight as I was blog hopping, I came across one mom's blog in particular that really tugged at my heartstrings. It's called The Homemade Dollhouse. The title caught my attention because I *LOVE* dollhouses!! I, in what I realize now was probably a subconscious attempt to relive part of my own childhood, bought one of those big, expensive Fisher Price Loving Family electronic ones for Samantha when she was four and she's hardly touched the darn thing. It's in the basement playroom now and David plays with it more than she does....not that there's anything wrong with that.... Anyway, so I found this Homemade Dollhouse blog. I explored a bit, looking at the very interesting pictures and reading some posts, and then I spotted a link called "What is this Blog about?", and I have to say that what I read there was one of the most inspirational things I have come across in a long time. If you're a mom....especially if you have a small daughter....you should take a look.
So, I've given up on trying to keep my kids from watching iCarly. They love it. They accidentally watched it one day, I sat down to watch it with them

LuLuBug Designs!

So my sister-in-law recently started her own business, hand-making adorable boutique dresses, skirts, flower hair clips, headbands and other cute little girl items from home. She is incredibly creative and I find myself browsing through her website store items wishing my daughter was a "girly girl" so I could buy her something from there that she'd actually WEAR!! I mean, there's even a dress named after her!!! But if I even attempted to make her wear something as cute and adorable as what Becky makes, she'd hate me forever. (That's absolutely NO offense to you, Beck. She's so not like I was as a kid) Oh well.....maybe someday I'll have a granddaughter who will enjoy wearing the cute little boutique dresses her Great Aunt Becky makes. Wow. Wait.........oh my God....what am I saying?!

Anyway, point is, if you have a little girl or know of one that is in need of some truly adorable outfits and hair items, be sure to check her out. You won't be disappointed!

What? Back to School? Already????

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN??? First of all I cannot believe how scary fast the summer flew by! Second of all -- and most importantly: My baby girl is in 4th Grade, and my baby boy is in Kindergarten??! Can somebody tell me where the past nine years melted away to? And how do I go about getting them back, please? Cause I'm not ready for my kids to be so freakin old.

Minus a few (ok, a ton) of tears from my daughter, they did ok today. I always take off of work on the first day of school so my husband and I can take the kids in to meet their new teachers and see their new rooms and new friends...(and so that I, psycho mom, have that peace of mind of at least having met the person(s) who will be caring for my children during the day). Kindergarten's gonna be a breeze for my son - he could not be bothered with us - he just wanted us to go away so he could have fun in his new classroom! But I sobbed all the way home after walking away from my sobbing 4th grader :-( Truly an emotional day for Mommy...But here's to another wonderful school year! I'm sure it's gonna be full of fun for all :)........right?
